“I don’t know what I can say … but there is a music video for it”- Sheeran said, although it’s pretty vague it’s just enough to whet the appetite of fans.
At the Jingle Ball show, despite opening the show hours earlier with acoustic versions of “Thinking Out Loud” and “Shape of You”, Sheeran joined Swift onstage for the last song of the evening, an incredibly energetic performance of “End Game” from Swift’s new album, which is celebrating its third week as No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Swift opened her performance with “Are You Ready for It”, surrounded by dancers, who left when Swift grabbed a guitar and performed an acoustic rendition of her electro-pop song “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” featuring Zayn.
Sheeran and Swift weren’t the only ones who brought surprise collaborations to the Jingle Ball show, Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony joined Halsey during her performance of “Strangers”, and then later on Halsey reappeared and joined The Chainsmokers in their performance of Closer. Kesha brought out Macklemore for their song “Good Ole Days”, and Demi Lovato brought out Cheat Codes for their track “No Promises”, who also served as a choir in her songs “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Tell Me You Love Me”, resulting in some of the most powerful vocal performances
